My elephant series
was inspired by my
parents' photos from
their African safari
trips. They bring home
some of the most
amazing pictures. In
commissioned me
to2005, my father
paint a picture of a
mother and baby
elephant drinking from a
watering hole. He gave
this painting to
his wife for their 25th
wedding anniversary.
The photo was actually
taken by her on their
very first trip to Africa.
The series has been
titled "Alephant" because
an "A" is hidden in each
painting. Finding the "A"
is a fun addition and my
way of showing pride in
my state - Alabama.
