March 14 / Landscapes in Palette Knife Workshop
Creating artwork with a palette knife yields a beautiful effect. These odd shaped tools come in many different shapes and sizes and can feel a bit awkward and unnatural, but palette knife painting forces us to be loose. It's the ideal "old school" tool for creating impressionistic 2-D art.
In this 4 hour workshop, you will create a landscape painting from start to finish. I will demonstrate using several different palette knives. I will even show you how to reshape your own palette knife so that it works better with your hand. Moreover, we will mix pastes with the acrylic paint to build texture, and once the artwork is complete, I will show you how to apply an oil stain that will give your palette knife painting a new level of depth.
All supplies included. Just bring your lunch and your favorite beverage. I will have snacks, water and Sangria.
